Fall 1996

Southwest Christian High School began in rented space in Minnetonka with 36 9th and 10th graders.

June 1999

First Commencement exercises with 7 graduates

Fall 1999

SWCHS moves to Eden Prairie AOG Church, with 125 students.
The All-School Choir was formed and sung the Hallelujah Chorus.
The first musical was performed.

Fall 2000

SWCHS moves to the former Nordic Track headquarters in Chaska.
Hundreds of volunteers renovate the building into a school.
During the build-out, students had classes at the community center.


The athletic program makes great strides with 2 third-place finishes, 3 fourth-place finishes, 1 consolation championship, and 19 athletes selected to all-conference teams.


Chaska extends the conditional-use building permit to the end of the '09-'10 school year.


SWCHS starts making plans to secure property for a permanent location. A downturn in the economy slows the process.

Fall 2008

First athletic team participates in a Class A state tournament; the girls' volleyball team takes home the Consolation Championship.

Spring 2009

Two SWCHS graduates are accepted to military academies.

Spring 2010

The new FIRST Robotics team wins the Rookie All-Star Award in the regional competition and goes to the national competition in Atlanta.


SWCHS purchases 29 acres of farmland off Hwy 212 and Bavaria Rd. Construction begins in July of 2011.

Fall 2012

Construction is completed of a new 63,000 sq. ft. campus and athletic fields. 187 students begin school at the Bavaria Road campus.
