Southwest's class offerings emphasize six core areas: English, history, Bible, math, science, and foreign languages, with supportive electives in other fields (see course listing.) 98% of our graduates matriculate to colleges and universities across the U.S. and Southwest students' ACT scores are consistently above the state average (2011-2012 composite score was 24.0; state composite score was 22.8).*
...emphasizes fine arts. Two outstanding choral groups and a wind ensemble, which are trained in varied musical styles from classical to pop, and a creative art and photography program, enrich the SW experience.
...engages students in sports. About 75% of the student body participates in soccer, cross-country, girls volleyball, basketball, track, golf, boys baseball, and girls softball. Co-op opportunities with other local schools include girls and boys tennis, football, wrestling, and synchronized swimming. SW also has an Equestrian Club and is starting a Dance Line team in 2012-2013. The school holds membership in the Minnesota State High School League and the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association.

...takes the student body on an All-School Retreat. Every fall SW students and staff take time out from the regular school week to sharpen our spiritual focus on Jesus, bond with one another, and just plain have fun at a camp in Northern Minnesota.
